Definition
WebAuthn is a W3C web standard for signing in with cryptographic keys instead of passwords. It is the basis for passkeys, which are unlocked by fingerprint, face recognition or a device PIN, for example. Because no password has to be typed or remembered, this can make signing in easier for many people.
