Accordion

In short and in plain language

An accordion is a part of a web page that you can open and close.

It often holds questions. You only see the answer after a click.

You should be able to open it with the keyboard. A screen reader should say if it is open.

Definition
An accordion is a control that collapses content under headings and expands it on request, for example in a section with frequently asked questions. It works well when each section can be opened with the keyboard and screen readers announce whether it is open or closed.
