Shop, web & email

Accessibility does not end on the homepage. This category looks at the channels where customers actually complete their journey: online shops with filters, variants and checkout, forms and appointment booking, customer accounts, newsletters and transactional emails, and designed landing pages. We show which typical patterns exclude people — controls without accessible names, colour as the only signal, time limits, unreadable text baked into email images — and how to replace them without giving up design. This includes testing routes for checkout flows, dealing with third-party building blocks and how requirements can be transferred into existing design systems and templates so new pages are accessible from the start. We also show how to build recurring components accessibly once and then reuse them across campaigns and shop pages.
