ARIA
Abbreviation for Accessible Rich Internet Applications
Definition
ARIA is a W3C technique that lets developers add roles, states and properties to interface elements in the code. Screen readers and other assistive technologies use this to recognise whether an element is a menu, a dialog or a switch. Used incorrectly, ARIA can make operation harder, so clean HTML comes first.
